Not seasonally adjusted unemployment rates rose in all 100 of North Carolina's counties in January. Forty-one counties had rates that were either at or below the state's 4.5 percent not seasonally adjusted rate, which increased 0.8 of a percentage point from the December benchmarked unemployment rate.

Unemployment rates increased in all 15 of North Carolina’s Metropolitan Statistical Areas.
