The North Carolina Research Parks are dense centers of activity where corporations, government, universities, and non-profit entities congregate. The spaces and people involved in each research park are listed below. Research Triangle Park

Centennial Campus

  • 1,227-acre property with 3 million square feet of constructed space that combines lab and office space with college classrooms, living quarters, and recreational opportunities, as well as the 200,000 sq. ft. James B. Hunt Jr. Library

  • 75+ research centers, institutes, labs, and departments

Charlotte Research Institute

  • 102 acre tract of land
  • Contains 12 research and general instruction buildings
  • Houses 18 UNC Charlotte interdisciplinary research centers and knowledge clusters
  • 200,000 sq. ft. Energy Production and Infrastructure Center (EPIC)
  • PORTAL (Partnership, Outreach, and Research to Accelerate Learning) Building scheduled to open January 2014 will be 96,000 sq. ft.

Gateway University Research Park

  • Two 75-acre campuses
  • North Campus: 8 buildings, 140,000 sq. ft.
  • South: 2 buildings, 170,000 sq. ft.

NC Research Campus

  • 350-acre campus with 900,000 sq. ft. of build-out
  • Combination of lab, medical, and office space

CREST Research Park

  • Tenants will have access to more than 80 established researchers
  • MARBIONC Building is a 69,000 sq. ft. research facility
  • Center for Marine Science contains a 99,000 sq. ft. auditorium for 150 individuals, classrooms, a greenhouse, an aquarium, four labs, five shops, a conference room, and a 900 ft. pier
  • Shellfish Research Hatchery has 11,000 sq. ft. lab to study shellfish
