January Unemployment Rates Increase in Most NC Counties

Not seasonally adjusted unemployment rates rose in 93 of North Carolina's 100 counties in January. Forty-seven counties had rates that were either at or below the state's 4.7 percent not seasonally adjusted rate, which increased 0.3 of a percentage point from the December benchmarked unemployment rate.

Unemployment rates increased in 14 of North Carolina’s 15 Metropolitan Statistical Areas.
