Periodically, the Department invites the public to comment on various administrative plans or proposals.

Currently, the State of North Carolina is giving notice and also seeking comments on substantial amendments to the 2011-2015 and 2016-2020 Consolidated Plans.  Consolidated Plans are program reports associated with federal funds administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Here is the purpose of the proposed amendments:

  • Add Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) tranche 3 funds and share the method of distribution for all three CDBG-CV tranches (via amendment to the 2019 Annual Action Plan and the 2016 Consolidated Plan)
  • Expend unspent 2016 Housing Opportunities for Persons with Aids (HOPWA) funds (via amendment to the 2016 Annual Action Plan and the 2016-2020 Consolidated Plan)
  • Expend unspent 2015 HOPWA funds (via amendment to the 2015 Annual Action Plan and the 2011-2015 Consolidated Plan)

The comment period concerning the CDBG-CV program closed at 5:00pm on Tuesday, November 24, 2020.

Comments regarding the remaining amendments must be received by 5:00pm on Saturday, December 19, 2020.
