NCWorks Partnership Conference - Back to the Future: The Next 30 Years

·        How do I register?

Register online @

Early-Bird Registration fee is $235 if postmarked by September 15, 2017. After September 15, registration will be $275, and onsite registration will be $300, subject to space availability.

·        How do I pay?

Payment must be made by check or money order only. Make checks payable to: NC Department of Commerce/Workforce (45-5336839) and mail to: NCWorks Training Center, 4351 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, NC 27699-4351

Special conference room rate is $139.00 (plus $17.72 tax) for up to four guests per room.  A 72 hour cancellation policy applies. Specify that you are attending the NCWorks Partnership Conference to receive this rate. Conference rate and block of rooms will be honored until September 11, 2017.

·        What is included with the registration payment?

Registration includes Conference materials and workshops; dinner, October 11; breakfast buffet and Governor’s Awards Banquet, October 12; and breakfast, October 13.

·        What is the Conference theme?

This is the 30th annual Partnership Conference and the goal is to learn from the past, function optimally in the present, and prepare for the future.  Our theme is Back to the Future: The Next 30 Years

·        Conference goals using the PEARL as an acronym:

The traditional gemstone to celebrate a 30-year landmark is the pearl, which symbolizes harmony among partners and the strength of bonding over shared joys and sorrows. Throughout this event, you will see the pearl used to reference and pay homage to all of the people and programs that have made up the workforce family over these 30 years.

 Conference goals are stated using the PEARL as an acronym:

  • Prosperity - Focus on how each of us has impact on promoting prosperity for all North Carolinians.
  • Energy - Renew our positive energy and tap into it to enrich all of our interactions and endeavors.
  • Action - Take action to learn new solutions to achieve collective goals and outcomes.
  • Reflection - Take time for reflection to learn from past challenges and build on past successes.
  • Legacy - Honor the workforce legacy of partnership, excellence, and service.

 What is the dress?

Business attire.

·        Pre-Con events:

Registration is not required for the Wednesday, October 11 pre-conference meetings.

·        What networking opportunities are included?

Networking is part of the entire conference, but special opportunities are structured through the Partnership Festival, buffet dinner, and after hours gathering on Oct. 11, the awards banquet on Oct. 12, the Workforce Connection sponsored by SETA on Wednesday evening, and the Cyber Café Networking Lounge throughout the event.

·        Are there any after-hours events planned?

Wednesday evening will feature the Pearl Jam, a dance and karaoke event; and the SETA Workforce Connection provides a place to gather, chat, and reacquaint Wednesday evening.
