NCWorks Career Center Certification Training Requirements
(effective July 2017)
All NCWorks Career Center staff must successfully complete training as specified here:
Section 1 - Must be completed prior to applying for certification.

- Career Advising
- NCWorks Online (and other programmatic training provided locally)
Section 2 - Must be completed by all staff during the first year of the certification period.
- Customer Service
- Disability Awareness
- Career Pathways
- Career Development Facilitator (25% goal)
Below are the approved options that local workforce directors and center management may choose from to meet the requirements. When multiple options are given within a category, directors and center managers have the flexibility to choose which training option they feel will be most beneficial for each staff person.
If staff have completed any of the trainings after January 2016, then s/he does not have to take it again.
Completions for all courses taken through the NCWorks Training Center will appear under "My Training Record" on the Training Registration and Information Network (TRAIN) at www.ncworkforcetraining.com. When new training choices are available they will be listed on this webpage at www.ncwtc.com, so check back periodically for the most current list.

Labor Market Information
Interactive Online Trainings – Each staff person must complete 1 training selected from this list; management may select the specific training to best benefit each staff person.
Recorded Online Trainings – Each staff person must complete 2 trainings selected from this list; management may select the specific trainings to best benefit each staff person
NCWorks Online and other training provided locally
All center staff must be trained on NCWorks Online and cross-trained on all the services provided by the center, as well as federal, state, and local programs and services provided by WIOA partners. Cross-training for core ISD staff (WIOA Title I and Title III) specifically includes training on the enrollment and eligibility process of each program, to include RESEA/EAI. Partner program training includes orientation to all services and products at the Center, including referred services.
Training listed in this section must be completed by all staff during the first year of the certification period.

Career Development Facilitator
As a solid foundation for career advising skills, 25% of the career center staff at each center must have completed, or be enrolled in, the Career Development Facilitator (CDF) course. Participants are selected by management. Staff who have completed the CDF coursework are waived from the requirement to attend additional Career Advising online trainings listed above in Section 1.
