Economic Impact of North Carolina Wine 2009
- This is an update to the economic impact study of the wine and grape industry from 2005 by Frank, Rimerman + Co. The industry generated an impact of $1.28 billion to the state's economy in 2009, an increase of 58 percent since 2005. Nearly 7,600 jobs are supported by the industry, up nearly 1,900 since 2005. There were nearly 1.26 million wine tourists in 2009 with expenditures totaling almost $156 million.

Economic Impact of North Carolina Wine 2005
- The report studied the overall economic impact of the N.C. wine and grape industries. Overall, the total economic impact of the wine and grape industry in North Carolina in 2005 is more than $813 million. The wine and grape industry accounts for more than 5,700 jobs with wages of $159 million. Winery revenue totaled more than $48 million, while vineyard revenue topped $3.7 million. The retail value of North Carolina wine in 2005 was an estimated $72.3 million. State and local tax revenue generated by North Carolina produced wine, grapes and related industries paid approximately $38.5 million, and $56.2 million in federal taxes.
