NC’s January Unemployment Rate Increases

North Carolina's unemployment rate for January increased 0.1 of a percentage point to 5.3 percent from the benchmarked December rate of 5.2 percent. This is 0.5 of a percentage point higher than the U.S. rate of 4.8 percent.

Seasonally adjusted Total Nonfarm employment decreased by 6,600 in January to 4,376,100.
