North Carolina Film Office

Announcement

The new Film and Entertainment Grant program begins on January 1, 2015. Funds from the $10 million grant will serve as a rebate of up to 25% on qualified expenses/purchases of productions and will be available towards the end of January 2015.

The N.C. Film Office is a client-driven program that services international, out-of-state and in-state production companies, North Carolina production support services and North Carolina film professionals.

The Film Office markets the entire state as a location to retain an industry that directly spends over $300 million in local economies which in turn creates high paying quality North Carolina jobs in the film, television and commercial industries.

During the recruitment process, the Film Office's main tools are a $10 million Film and Entertainment Grant backed by extensive North Carolina support services, and a workforce of more than 4,000 local professionals. The Film Office also retains and manages a location database with thousands of locations around the state and works in tandem with various regional economic development offices.

The Film Office handles all aspects of production including assisting companies and productions with set up in North Carolina, successfully negotiating and problem solving issues that arise during the making of film, and leveraging the success of completed and distributed projects as an activation tool in promoting North Carolina tourism.
