Comprised of 120 hours of course work, the Career Development Facilitator Program is based on a nationally accepted curriculum tailored to North Carolina workforce professionals. The program is designed to standardize the knowledge and experience of individuals who are working in workforce training programs and other career development services.
Instructional Methodology: The course incorporates a variety of modalities, including 18 hours of classroom instruction, 62 hours of web-based, distance learning modules and interactive DVD, and 40 hours of independent project completion.
Length of training: The course is designed to be completed in 3-5 months, with actual course length based on class preference. The course may also be offered in a condensed format in the summer months, but will be clearly announced as such.
Cost of Course: $525 (covers tuition, student manual and interactive DVD). Students are responsible for their own lodging and travel expenses.

Certification and Licensure: The NC Workforce Development Training Center issues a certificate upon successful completion of the entire course of instruction. The certificate enables individuals to apply for the national credential as a Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) through the Center for Credentialing Education (CCE).
To qualify for the national GCDF, you must verify your completion of a recognized CDF course such as the one offered here. In addition you must document that you meet one of the following combinations of education and experience:
- Graduate degree + 1 year of experience
- Bachelor degree + 2 years of experience
- 2 years college + 3 years of experience
- High school diploma / GED + 4 years or experience
