Whether your business is running a restaurant, assembling computers or performing clinical drug trials, a motivated and capable workforce is essential to your success. North Carolina’s productive, knowledge-driven workforce provides companies an edge in today’s global economy.
North Carolina offers a variety of workforce services to the business community at both the state and local levels. We can link you to resources and information that can help you find, train and retain qualified employees.
Our Workforce Investment Act programs are administered through 24 regions of the state (covering all 100 counties) designated as local workforce development areas. Within each local workforce development area, programs are provided through the JobLink Career Center system.
For more information on how employers can take advantage of JobLink Career Center services, visit the JobLink Career Centers section of our website.
Your business can qualify for tax credits when you hire certain workers. The Work Opportunity Tax Credit and the Welfare-to-Work Tax Credit are federal tax credits that encourage employers to hire targeted groups of job seekers by reducing your federal income taxes.
To participate, employers must complete IRS Form 8850 and ETA Form 9061 or 9062. To get these forms and more information, visit the IRS website or call (800) 829-1040 or the new FAX-ON-DEMAND number at (877) 828-2050.
