Promote Travel and Tourism Industry

 

Tourism remains one of North Carolina’s most vital industries. The economic activity and employment generated by tourism spans various economic sectors. Annually, visitors to North Carolina spend over $16 billion, generating over 190,000 jobs for North Carolinians. State and local tax revenues, as a result of visitor spending, total more than $1.3 billion. 

The Division of Tourism, Film and Sports Development helps the state's tourism industry promote its services to attract visitors to North Carolina state with:

 

  • Effective marketing strategies
  • Research resources
  • Community development programs
  • Visitor facilities.

 

Division initiative promotes meetings in North Carolina

 

In support of the important meetings and conventions segment in North Carolina, the Division has introduced a new advertising message promoting the appeal and affordability of the state's diverse array of lodging, convention centers, meeting venues and restaurants. The message reaches out to North Carolina's business community in full page, color print ads initially appearing in the Charlotte, Triad and Triangle editions of the Business Journal Friday, January 30 and also in the February issue of NC Magazine.
