Workers in North Carolina’s communities benefit from job training activities, education and services through a network of 24 local Workforce Development Boards, serving all 100 counties in the state.
The primary purpose of the services and training is to provide individuals with the skills, behaviors, and awareness necessary to become productive employees and/or to expand their skills for job advancement. This results in an ample pool of qualified workers for North Carolina’s employers.
This statewide system of workforce programs also assists workers facing economic disadvantage, job loss, and other serious barriers to employment. Within each local area, programs for adults and dislocated workers are provided through the JobLink Career Center system.
