Annually, the state receives more than $60 million in federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funding for housing and community development programs. The four programs participating in North Carolina are:
The Five-Year Consolidated Action Plan outlines how the four North Carolina programs funded by HUD propose to spend the federal dollars they receive over that period. The state is currently following the 2006 - 2010 Consolidated Plan.
Annual Action Plans, submitted to HUD by November 15th of each year, focus on the state's one year goals.

NC Department of Commerce, Division of Community Assistance (DCA) will hold a public hearing on February 9, 2010 at 2:00pm at DCA's offices, Methodist Building, 1307 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC, 27605. Notice is hereby given that amendments to the 2006-2010 Consolidated Plan, 2010 Consolidated Annual Action Plan, 2008 Amended Consolidated Annual Action and the North Carolina Citizen Participation Plan for housing and community development programs will be published January 15, 2010 and available for public review and comment. The
proposed amendments will affect programs for the Emergency Shelter Grants, CDBG, and the economic development category under CDBG.

public meeting was held on May 4, 2009 at 10am at the offices of the NC Division of Community Assistance, Methodist Building, 1307 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27605.
The Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER), submitted to HUD by March 31st of each year, summarizes the state's accomplishments for the previous year.
