Self-Help is a national community development lender headquartered in Durham, N.C. that reaches persons who are underserved by conventional lenders – particularly minorities, women, rural residents and low-income families.

 

Self-Help has provided over $4.5 billion in financing to more than 50,000 homebuyers, small businesses and nonprofits nationwide.

 

Loan products include:

  • SBA loans, basic business loans, and microloans.
  • Specialty lending programs for nonprofits of many kinds.
  • Loan products for environmentally-focused companies including loans from the North Carolina Recycling Fund.
  • Products geared specifically to commercial and residential real estate development projects.
