At the North Carolina Department of Commerce, we have a Small Business Ombudsman on duty to help smooth the way and cut through the red tape to resolve issues with State Agencies or Departments.
This ombudsman has the authority to:
- Collect information concerning the status of an inquiry on behalf of a business
- Convene representatives of State Agencies to resolve specific small business-related issues
- Cut through the government morass to reduce unnecessary delays
- Resolve inconsistencies between regulatory bodies
