Small Business Ombudsman

When interacting with  state agencies in North Carolina, do you ever wish you had an advocate who could speak on your behalf?  You do.

At the North Carolina Department of Commerce, we have a Small Business Ombudsman on duty to help smooth the way and cut through the red tape to resolve issues with State Agencies or Departments.

 

 This ombudsman has the authority to:

  • Collect information concerning the status of an inquiry on behalf of a business
  • Convene representatives of State Agencies to resolve specific small business-related issues
  • Cut through the government morass to reduce unnecessary delays
  • Resolve inconsistencies between regulatory bodies
