International Trade Services

Nearly one in ten jobs in N.C. is tied to international trade.

Our International Trade Division's business development managers help North Carolina companies smooth their entry into worldwide markets with value-added services including:

 

  • Preparing marketing plans
  • Handling export operations
  • Providing market research
  • Identifying best market prospects
  • Advising on finance and insurance options
  • Working to find customers and partners.

 

In 2008, we assisted 407 North Carolina companies with export development and in many cases helped these businesses position themselves for future international growth.  Our total state exports grew 7.3 % to $25 billion.

 

Our international trade staff is located in two domestic and seven foreign officesBusiness development managers in Raleigh and High Point help companies prepare to sell products overseas.  Our foreign trade representatives in Canada, Mexico, Germany, Korea, China (Shanghai, Hong Kong) and Japan locate distribution channels and partners for North Carolina companies looking to enter the foreign markets and assist them with on-the-ground services in these countries.
