N.C. Main Street Success Stories
Since the program began in 1980, North Carolina Main Street downtowns have experienced:
▪ A gain of $1.97 billion in new investment,
▪ A net gain of 17,200 jobs and 4,000 businesses, and
▪ Renovation of 4,200 buildings and 4,400 facades.
Nationally, Main Street communities have had more than $55.7 billion of cumulative public and private investment in their downtowns.

2012 N.C. Main Street Award Winners and Champions
Outstanding downtown projects and individuals who have made significant contributions to the success of their local downtowns were honored at the 2013 N.C. Main Street Ceremony in Salisbury.
