Southeastern Regional Office
About Our Office
The Southeastern Regional Office provides planning services to a sixteen county region consisting of the Sandhills and southern coastal plain. The counties covered are: Anson, Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Cumberland, Duplin, Harnett, Hoke, Lee, Moore, New Hanover, Pender, Richmond, Robeson, Sampson, and Scotland. This service region includes the urbanized communities of Wilmington and Fayetteville and rural areas in Harnett, Hoke, and Moore counties that are undergoing significant population growth.
The office assists local governments across the region with community development, economic development, ordinance preparation, strategic planning, land use planning, growth management and downtown revitalization. In addition the office assists regional organizations and Fort Bragg military reservation staff on regional land use analysis and provides GIS support to various regional initiatives.

Our main office is located in Fayetteville in the Systel Building downtown. For parking and directions,
click here. A field office that serves the coastal communities and counties is located in Wilmington.

Directions to Wilmington Field Office
From I-40: On I-40 make a left turn onto Martin Luther King (to US 17 North to Jacksonville). Take next left onto US 17 North to Jacksonville. Turn right onto Cardinal Drive Extension. WiRO is approximately 500 yards on left. Visitor parking is in the front, handicapped parking is at the side door facing the pond.
From NC 74: Take NC 74 to 17th Street in Wilmington. Make a right onto US 17 North and East 74 (Market Street). You will go under the overpass for I-40. Approximately 1 mile from this intersection is Cardinal Drive Extension to the Right. WiRO is approximately 500 yards on left. Visitor parking is in the front, handicapped parking is at the side door facing the pond.
From US 17 Jacksonville: At the Market Street (US 17) and Gordon Road intersection – continue on Market for approximately 2 miles. Make a left turn on to Cardinal Drive Extension. WiRO is approximately 500 yards on left. Visitor parking is in the front, handicapped parking is at the side door facing the pond.
