Southeastern Regional Office Staff

Monita McLaurin, Senior Planner, Chief Planner. Monita joined DCA in fall of 2006 and was appointed Senior Planner a year later. In October 2008 she became Chief Planner. She is a graduate of North Carolina Central University earning a B.A. in Political Science and a Masters in Public Administration. She has worked in federal, state and local governments providing planning resources to underserved communities. Prior to joining DCA, she worked with Cumberland County as a Planner in comprehensive planning. She can be reached at mmclaurin@nccommerce.com.

 

Mark D. Zeigler, AICP, Community Development Planner. Mark joined DCA in winter 2008 as a Planner in the Wilmington Field Office.  He holds a B.A. in Geology  from The College of Wooster, Ohio, and a Master's Degree in City and Regional Planning from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, California.  Mark's professional interests include land use planning, zoning, downtown and main-street development, growth management, and community development. Prior to joining DCA Mark contributed to the City of Wilmington, Planning Division, as a land planner for ten years.  Other work experience in Florida, California and Oregon included land development, environmental permitting, and coastal engineering. Shanelle Bullock, Community Development Planner.  Shanelle joined DCA in winter of 2008.  She has earned a B.A. in Political Science from North Carolina Central University and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.  She has worked in planning and community development throughout Eastern North Carolina.  Prior to joining DCA, Shanelle worked with the City of Jacksonville, the City of Rocky Mount, and the Natural Resource Institute/Leadership for Environmental Justice (LEJ). Renee Pridgen, Program Assistant. Renee joined DCA in June, 2008.  She is a graduate from Fayetteville Technical Community College and holds an Associates' of Applied Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Public Administration.  She is pursuing her B.A. degree in Political Science/Public Administration through the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.  Prior to joining DCA, Renee retired with 31 years of service from Cumberland County Public Library System in Fayetteville, NC.
