The staff at your local JobLink Career Center can assist you with job exploration. In addition, there are several online self-assessment inventories that can help you to determine where your job interests are.

 

These inventories are designed for you to explore jobs based upon your interests. Use these inventories and combine them with occupational information and local labor market data.

 

Keep in mind that there are no interest inventories that can tell you exactly what job you should pursue.

 

  • Career Overview –  A career information and job description guide. Explore careers, jobs, education and employment Information and descriptions.

 

  • O*Net – Find skill assessment guides, occupational profiles, labor market information and much more.

 

 

 

  • Platinum Rule – Personality test commonly used in the business world.

 

 

  • The Career Key –  A personality inventory that matches your personality type to jobs.

 

  • Queendom.com –  A variety of tests available including a career assessment inventory.

 

  • Occupational Outlook Handbook - A well organized guide providing job descriptions and duties, working conditions, the training and education needed, earnings and expected job prospects for the jobs you are interested in pursuing.

  • GEDonline –  Prepare to take the GED from the convenience of your own home.

 

  • Peterson's –  A comprehensive site that includes a college directory and information on admissions, financial aid, testing and much more. The site also has an online bookstore to purchase test preparation materials at a discount.
