N.C. Equal Opportunity Policy

The N.C. Department of Commerce's Division of Employment and Training ensures that all Workforce Investment Act activities comply with equal opportunity laws and regulations and do not discriminate.

The N.C. Department of Commerce’s Division of Employment and Training ensures that all Workforce Investment Act activities comply with equal opportunity laws and regulations and do not discriminate on the basis of:

  • Race
  • Color
  • Religion
  • Sex
  • National origin
  • Age
  • Disability
  • Political affiliation or belief.

In addition, it is responsible for monitoring the activities of the agencies that receive Workforce Investment Act funds.

Equal Opportunity staff members monitor for compliance during regular on-site reviews and review all complaints and grievances. If it is determined that reasonable efforts have not been made to reach specified groups, the agencies affected are required to submit a written plan to address the deficiencies.
