Tourism Events

The Division of Tourism, Film and Sports Development hosts and supports a variety of events.

 

In an effort to educate travel industry partners, highlight the contribution made by travel and tourism businesses in North Carolina and build awareness, the Division of Tourism hosts and supports a variety of events.  For in-depth information about these annual events, visit the following links: 

  • Annual Governor's Conference on Hospitality & Tourism - March 21-23, 2010 at New Bern Riverfront Convention Center.  Check back for more details.
  • National Travel and Tourism Week - The 27th Annual National Tourism Week will be May 8-16, 2010. North Carolina's Tourism Day will be Tuesday May 11, 2010.
  • US Travel Association’s Travel Leadership Summit was held in Washington, DC September 16-17, 2009.    
  • Mid-Year Marketing Update - was held Sept. 22, 2009 at the N.C. Museum of History in Raleigh. The program featured remarks from N.C. Cultural Resources Secretary Linda Carlisle and N.C. Commerce Secretary Keith Crisco. Dr. Mike Walden, William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professor at NCSU, discussed today's challenging economy and the outlook for the future. Additionally, there were updates on many of the Division’s key programs and an opportunity for dialogue and input into the development of upcoming marketing-related projects and initiatives.
